What is CDN (Content Delivery Network )

What is CDN

Let me describe you about it in the layman language. Generally, we use shared hosting, and all our files are hosted on a data center. For example, my files are hosted at Known host, and I use the Texas data center. Now, whenever a user opens Indiatechmoney.com, the request goes to my data center in Texas and in this way my files and websites are loaded on his browser. Sounds simple!

But due to this, there is vast ping and latency, and therefore it takes time to load the site based on the place of the user.

Now, the data centers of the content delivery network are located on different geographical locations, and when your site works on a CDN network, and if a reader opens your site, then you can obtain your files from the nearest data center of the CDN Network Images, static data served.

This reduces ping, latency and thus your site loads faster. It is the first and prime advantage of using CDN.

In other words, they use a technique called content replication, in which your content is copied to different servers located in different regions. A good CDN service will have multiple servers at various locations. When you serve your WordPress or any another website file using the content delivery network, you technically save time for your readers and reduce server load, because data will be served from other servers and not your hosting organization.

When you set up the CDN, you use pull or push technology to upload your existing files from the server, how you can set up the CDN for your site, we will talk about it in my next post. Here is a self-explanatory model from MAXCDN, which tells how it works:
